The Mayor of Kutaisi resigned. Ioseb Khakhaleishvili writes about this on his Facebook page.

“Thanks to each voter who gave me the opportunity to be the Mayor of Kutaisi for years and thanks to those people who tirelessly and conscientiously participated in the development of our city.

In the past years, our team has tackled many difficult cases and successfully implemented many of them, which would not have been possible without a united spirit, teamwork and individual efforts in the common cause.

I am leaving my position today, although I remain in the Georgian Dream team, I will continue to serve my city and country in another capacity. I have been a member of the management team since its inception, I have worked in the public service for more than 10 years in various leading positions, and this has been the best opportunity to do things for our city during these years.

Based on the current political situation, I will also engage in party activities and continue working in Tbilisi. As you know, our country is facing a very important, historic choice, that’s why I will try to serve my country in a different way this time.

I will continue to serve my country as an ordinary soldier so that Georgia continues to develop. Let’s give our people, especially my beloved people of Kutaisi, the opportunity to live peacefully.

Kutaisi is our city and we must all build its future together”, - writes Ioseb Khakhaleishvili.
