The officers of Mtskheta - Mtianeti Police Department and Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti Police Departments under the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained M. Kh. in Zugdidi.

The committed crime envisions from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that on April 15 of the current year, at the 39th kilometer of Tbilisi – Senaki - Leselidze highway, the driver of Toyota vehicle intentionally collided with a police car and fled the scene along with accomplices. As a result of the car accident, David Mikiashvili, the head of the Mtskheta - Mtianeti Main Division of the Patrol Police Department, received health damage.

The investigation also established that the accused M. Kh. is one of the accomplices of the driver, who did not report the accident to the police and hid with along with other persons.

Within the framework of the criminal case investigation, all necessary investigative and operative activities are carried out in order to identify and detain other persons involved in the mentioned fact, relevant examinations have already been scheduled.

The incident is being investigated under Article 353 (1) and 376 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
