David Gabaidze to chair the Supreme Council of Adjara

The newly elected members of the Supreme Council of Adjara gathered today for their session, in accordance with the final protocol issued by the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara. The elections were held on October 26, alongside Georgia’s national parliamentary elections. The opposition has refused to participate in legislative activities.

David Gabaidze will chair the Supreme Council of Adjara. He was the only candidate nominated for the post, and all the 13 MPs in the hall unanimously voted for him.

Gabaidze will head the Supreme Council for the 3rd consecutive time. His deputy will be Ramaz Jincharadze, who served as Chairman of the Batumi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) before the elections.
