President Joe Biden asked Congress for USD 33 billion to support Ukraine and for new tools to siphon assets from Russian oligarchs.
The vast funding request includes over USD 20 billion for weapons, ammunition and other military assistance, as well as USD 8.5 billion in direct economic assistance to the government and USD 3 billion in humanitarian aid.
“The cost of this fight is not cheap, but caving to aggression is going to be more costly if we allow it to happen. We either back the Ukrainian people as they defend their country, or we stand by as the Russians continue their atrocities and aggression in Ukraine. It is critical that Congress approve my USD 33 billion request as quickly as possible”, - said Joe Biden.
