No one is happy about the fines, but it seems like it’s necessary - Kakha Kaladze

Fines for improper parking and parking on the sidewalk are tightening. Discussion on the legislative change prepared at the initiative of Tbilisi City Hall has started.

“We have problems in the city in a certain direction. These are parking problems: stopping cars in places where it is forbidden; occupying places allocated for persons with disabilities; occupying parking spaces for Category A taxis, etc. We want it all to be set in order.

Too many letters are received regarding the fact that cars are parked on the sidewalks and it is impossible to walk. Certainly, we want all this to be regulated. Since our transport policy covers all of this, some changes will be made to the law in terms of increasing fines. It is for sure that no one is happy about the fines, but it seems like it’s necessary to keep order in the city”, - said Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi.
