Two different delegations may leave for Ukraine – the delegation of the Speaker of the Parliament and the parliamentary delegation. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Georgian Dream.

“When the Speaker of Parliament goes to another country on behalf of the Parliament, it is a delegation of the Speaker of Parliament, which is a completely different, specific format. It is the prerogative of the Speaker of Parliament to decide how to form the delegation. No matter how the delegation of the Speaker of the Parliament is formed, this does not restrict the possibility for any MP or any political group to travel to Ukraine within the framework of the parliamentary delegation.

We shared Shalva Papuashvili’s initiative to go to Ukraine based on various arguments. We also closely listened to the interview with the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, where we heard very interesting and optimistic messages about bilateral relations. It all became the basis of our decision. It is important for us to show solidarity with Ukraine at the highest level, both towards the people and the state. Speaker’s visit is very important in this regard. Naturally, bilateral relations will be discussed during this visit”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
