Minister of Health met with the representatives of two biggest pharmaceutical companies within the framework of his official visit to Turkey. Zurab Azarashvili also visited leading Turkish pharmaceutical manufacturer entities and received detailed information on the industry.

Minister underlined paramount importance of importing to Georgia of high quality medicines, manufactured in accordance with GMP standard. As noted by him, citizens of Georgia have already had possibility to buy imported from Turkey, high quality medicines with significantly lowered price. The list of such medicines will be gradually enriched.

The visit of representatives of pharmaceutical company to Georgia has been planned. The supportive mechanisms for increased quantity of imported medicines will be discussed during the visit.

Within the framework of the oficial visit, Minister, Zurab Azarashvili met with his Turkish counterpart.

Joint healthcare projects and the prospects of further development of existing cooperation were discussed during the meeting. During the meeting, the decision of the visit of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia in the nearest future was made.
