Prime Minister of Georgia met Michel Vion, Secretary General of Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) today. Discussion focused on the World Mountain Ski Championship planned for 2022 in Bakuriani. Georgia is one of the countries among 14 nations, where such an event has or will ever be held.

Irakli Garibashvili expressed gratitude to Michel Vion for the demonstrated cooperation and thereby noted that development of ski and winter sports and training of Georgian athletes for tournaments of global magnitude are extremely important.

It was also noted at the meeting that the World Cup Season Preview in Europe was held in winter 2021-2022 in Bakuriani for a parallel giant slalom category. Visitors to the championship noted that the event was organized at the global level and high standard.
