European Parliament recommends giving Ukraine EU candidate status. The decision follows President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech in the parliament, where he called on the EU to “prove” that the union is with Ukraine.

The European Parliament’s resolution also demands that Russia withdraws all its troops from the Ukrainian territory.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine already thanked the European Parliament for the recommendation to grant Ukraine the status of an EU candidate.
