EU described the process as very accelerated that was not inclusive enough to involve all stakeholders - Carl Hartzell

State Inspector’s Service was one of the conditions for visa liberalization and the EU has made a significant investment to strengthen it. Such a statement made today the EU Ambassador to Georgia.

“I express serious concern about the process that began before the New Year in Parliament in connection with State Inspector. The EU described the process as very accelerated that was not inclusive enough to involve all stakeholders. The European Union is one of the stakeholders as it has made significant investments to strengthen the expertise and capabilities of the State Inspector’s Service.

The Service is an important institution that, as part of a democratic landscape, exercises control and balance.

I hope, the concerns that the Delegation has been expressed will be taken into account and reflected when the process continues”, - said Carl Hartzell.
