The Tbilisi City Court considers that the information published by the Ministry of Justice on Mikheil Saakashvili’s food ration, and disclosing audio-video recordings served the legitimate purpose of state and public safety.
“The court found that the statement of the Minister of Justice, the information published by the Ministry on Mikheil Saakashvili’s food ration and disclosing audio-video recordings served the legitimate purpose of state and public safety - no violation of the requirements of the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection was found.
The State Inspector’s Service deliberately tries to mislead the public by spreading false information with baseless and unsubstantiated allegations, in particular: in similar categories of cases, unlike other cases, there is a tight statutory time limit - set at 1 month.
The appeal was filed in court on December 17, 2021, and the final decision on the case was made on January 11, 2022.
Based on this, the Tbilisi City Court calls on the State Inspector’s Service and all interested parties to disseminate relevant information / opinions based on factual and correct interpretation of the current legislation”, - reads the statement.
