Lasha Talakhadze won 5th Weightlifting World Champion title and broke 3 records in the process, at the International Weightlifting Federation competition in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
The Georgian athlete improved previous figures in Snatch and Clean and Jerk categories, as well as in the total sum of weights lifted, finishing ahead of Armenia’s Verazdat Lalayan and Gor Minasyan.
His Clean and Jerk attempt saw Talakhadze master 267 kg, adding to the 225 kg in Snatch and scoring a combined total of 492 kg. The result saw the 109+ kg category athlete earn 3 gold medals along with his World Champion status.
