Irakli Garibashvili participates in the Eastern Partnership Summit

The Prime Minister of Georgia participates in the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels.

A political declaration will be adopted at the summit, in which it is important to reflect priority issues for Georgia. The document will reaffirm the strategic importance of the Eastern Partnership for the European Union, as well as its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and its partners within internationally recognized borders.

The Georgian side expects to mention such an important issue as the gradual integration into the EU single market, as well as the approval of the new Eastern Partnership agenda, in the development of which Georgia, along with the EU and other partner countries, was actively involved.

As a result, an ambitious agenda has been set to strengthen the security of the partner countries’ economies, institutions, societies, environmental and digital transformation mechanisms. The new agenda includes specific goals to be achieved through the EU’s new regional investment plan. For Georgia, this means strengthening transport, energy and digital connectivity, including by maximizing the potential of the Black Sea.
