Tbilisi’s main Christmas tree lit up

Tbilisi Mayor and Georgian Prime Minister have lit up the city’s main Christmas tree in front of the Parliament.

Before the tree was illuminated, Kakha Kaladze addressed the public, appealing to them to show more respect and love for each other. He pledged 2022 to be “the year of development, success, and advancement”.

“The current year proved to be a turning point.""2021 was a rather challenging year, and it was also a turning point as we have done a lot; we have brought peace to the country. I want to salute you all together and wish you and your families peace and health. My greetings to our compatriots abroad and those in Abkhazia and Ossetia, the representatives of the Georgian diaspora”, - added Irakli Garibashvili.

Starting from December 24, this year’s New Year celebrations will include children’s entertaining activities, installations, New Year fairs at Orbeliani Square, concerts. A grand Christmas concert will wrap up festive events on January 7. December 31 night’s gala concert will take place at First Republican Square.
