The Defense Forces are holding the Didgori 2021 interagency exercises

The Defense Forces are holding the Didgori 2021 interagency exercises designed to ensure deeper coordination and better interoperability between governmental institutions in times of crisis and war. On the Georgian Prime Minister’s order, the planning and implementation of the exercises is led by the Defense Forces.

Compared to previous drills, this year"s exercises Didgori 2021 are larger in scope and significance in that they, besides the staff component, also incorporate field operation elements. Alongside the Defense Forces, the participants of the field exercises include the units of the Interior Ministry’s Special Tasks Department, the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department, and the Border Police.

Didgori 2021 brings together strategic- and operation-level representatives of all state institutions, including the President’s Parliamentary Secretary and the President"s Defense and Security Advisor.

The scenario of the exercises encompasses national-level crisis situations. Based on this scenario, simulation crises will be escalated to turn into full-fledged military action. Crisis de-escalation will conclude the exercises. The command component of the exercises takes place in 2 location: the Krtsanisi Combined Arms Center and the 2nd Infantry Brigade in Senaki.

The exercises opened on November 8, officially to conclude on November 12, marking the 8th session under the Didgori cycle of command and staff exercises.
