There was one death on a flight from Istanbul to Hamburg. Hamburg Airport confirmed this at the request of the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland. The 51-year-old came from the Duchy of Lauenburg, reports the “Lübecker Nachrichten”.

The “Hamburger Abendblatt” had previously reported that the lifeless man had already been discovered on Monday last week shortly after landing on his seat. He apparently died unnoticed during the flight. For him any help came too late.

The passenger was COVID-infected. So far it is unclear how the man was able to start his flight at all.
