The officers of the Kobuleti Police Division of Adjara Police Department and Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained two foreign citizens- U.H. (DoB 1991) and M.I. (DoB 1975) at different times as a result of operative-search and investigative activities.
The officers of Kobuleti Police Division arrested U.H. (DoB 1991) in Batumi for illegal purchase, storage and sale of drugs in large quantities.
The committed crime envisages up to14 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused person illegally sold drugs on the regular basis.
Based on the Court’s decision, the law enforcers carried out a control purchase of drugs from the accused person and recorded the process.
The police, as a result of the personal search of the accused person, seized the money received as a result of illegal sale of drugs - 5000 GEL in Batumi. Law enforcement officers also seized “Cocaine” drug as evidence which was illegally sold by the detainee on the regular basis.
Defendant M.I. was detained by the officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department in the village of Akhalsopeli, Khelvachauri Municipality, on charges of illegal purchase and storage of drugs in especially large quantities.
During the personal search of the detainee, the law enforcers seized 147 pills and “Suboxone” containing buprenorphine as evidence and cash.
The committed crime envisages from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
Investigation into the cases of illegal purchase and storage of drugs in especially large quantities, illegal purchase, storage and selling drugs in large quantities is in progress under Article 260, III, V and VI parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
