Russian court sentences shaman critical of Putin to psychiatric treatment

A Russian court sentenced a Siberian shaman critical of President Vladimir Putin to enforced treatment in a psychiatric hospital for assaulting a member of Russia’s National Guard, his lawyer said, writes Reuters.

The court decision states that Alexander Gabyshev is a great threat to the society and he needs compulsory treatment in a specialized hospital under constant supervision.

Siberian shaman drew media attention when he set off in 2019 when he called Putin an evil and announced a march to Moscow.
