Ruling party does not want independence of judiciary - NGOs on appointment of judges

According to the non-governmental organizations, the Georgian Dream does not want the independence of the judiciary, following the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court, despite the calls from opposition, NGOs and the international partners to place a moratorium on the process, in line with the April 19 agreement.

With the appointment, as the NGOs said, the ruling team has reaffirmed that voting for individuals affiliated with the clan is in their interest.

Yesterday the Parliament of Georgia appointed 6 judges to the country’s Supreme Court.
