A meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Zalkaliani and Secretary General of the intergovernmental coalition - “Community of Democracies”, Thomas Garrett.

During the meeting the parties discussed activity conducted within the framework of the coalition associated with Georgia.

Zalkaliani presented the Secretary General of the coalition with information regarding Russia’s occupation of Georgia’s territories and the dire humanitarian situation on the ground.

Particular attention was paid to the restriction on the freedom of movement for the local population, closure of the occupation line, the so called borderisation process, illicit arrests and kidnappings, as well as gross violations of human rights. In this regard, the significance of active involvement on behalf of the international community was underscored.
