A document on electoral reform was sent to the Venice Commission for recommendations.

The Commission had been asked to review the draft document on electoral reform in an accelerated manner, as the issue should be debated in parliament.

“We asked for a quick review, because the first and second hearings are planned, and we want the conclusion to be reached before the second hearing by June 6. We addressed the Venice Commission with this request. There will be the first reading at next week’s parliamentary session”, - explained Shalva Papuashvili, MP from the Georgian Dream.
