Two employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained for abuse of power to be charged today. The State Inspector’s Service of Georgia has arrested two employees of the Department for the Protection of the Objects under the MIA for abuse of power against soldiers in compulsory military service.
The investigation launched into the criminal case on July 29, 2020.
"It was revealed that the shift heads of the Combat Training and Retraining Division of the Department of Defence of the MIA exceeded their official authority, used methods of punishment prohibited by law, violated the dignity of the soldiers in compulsory military service and damaged the legitimate interests of the state", - reads the statement of the State Inspector’s Service.
