Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Georgian businessman Davit Kodua to imprisonment for domestic violence.

At today’s trial, the defense demanded that Kodua be released without a restraining order, while the prosecution demanded the use of pre-trial detention. As the judge said, the defense could not convince him that no criminal action had been committed by Kodua.

The businessman faces detention from 1 to 3 years if convicted.
