The U.S. Capitol was on lockdown Friday after a car rammed into a security barricade, injuring two police officers, writes The Los Angeles Times.
According to U.S. Capitol Police, a person rammed a vehicle into two Capitol Police officers. A suspect is in custody. Both officers are injured. All three have been transported to the hospital.
The car appeared to hit a barrier that is raised while Capitol Police verify the occupants’ identity and search the vehicle.
At approximately 1:10 p.m. Capitol staff were instructed by Capitol Police to remain indoors and away from external windows due to an “external security threat”.
