On the Georgian Government’s decision, Anzor Erkomaishvili will be laid to rest Mtatsminda Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures, said the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Irakli Garibashvili reiterated his sorrow over the passing of Anzor Erkomaishvili and extended his sympathies to his family, friends, and all of Georgia.

“Yesterday, Georgia lost Anzor Erkomaishvili a brilliant folklorist, champion of Georgian folk music, and public figure.

His merit in serving Georgian culture is invaluable, indeed.

Anzor Erkomaishvili dedicated his whole life to folk polyphony, our greatest treasure, and introduced the whole world to the splendor of Georgian music and genius.

Mister Anzor Erkomaishvili"s death is an immeasurable loss, but I am confident that generations raised by him will continue the cause served by him with dedication throughout his life”, - added the Head of the Government.
