The Constitution of Belarus was adopted 27 years ago, in 1994, three years after the country declared its independence from the Soviet Union, this formal document establishes the framework of the Belarusian state and government and enumerates the rights and freedoms of its citizens.
Today the President Alexandr Lukashenko said that they began to work on the constitutional amendments, special commission is created.
“The activities of the constitutional commission should be transparent and open. The commission should take on board people"s initiatives, because the public should have confidence in the results of this work”, - said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
