Minister of Internal Affairs awarded all operators in Connection with the European 112 Day

On the occasion of the European 112 Day, based on the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, all operators were awarded with Certificates of Appreciation.


In connection with the mentioned, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Butkhuzi visited Tbilisi Center of the Public Safety Management Center "112" expressed gratitude to the staff of “112” for exemplary performance of their duties during the pandemic and efforts made in ensuring the effective operation of Public Safety Management Center. Deputy Minister awarded all operators with relevant Certificates of Appreciation.


In addition to the mentioned, the head of the Rustavi Center was awarded with a medallion of the Ministry for “Exceptional Merits”.


During the pandemic “112” was additionally assigned to handle citizens’ calls. Each citizen can call 112 in case of getting infected with the virus. Throughout 2020, operators received up to 7 million calls up to date. In order to ensure the efficient call management and undisruptive connection to the 112 Center, the number of operators has increased by 115%.


In 2009, the European Commission, European Parliament and the Council of Europe officially declared February 11 as European "112" Day. On February 11, Georgia and more than 80 countries around the world, including EU member states, celebrate the official day of 112.
