Ombudsman of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva has officially appealed to Georgian Public Defender Nino Lomjaria based on the information disseminated on several internet pages about the engagement ceremony of two children in the village of Ponichala.

Taking into consideration of the seriousness and sensitivity of the issue, Ombudsman has asked to immediately investigate the fact, to take the relevant measures in the direction of ensuring the protection of the rights of those minors by the authoritive state bodies of Georgia in that appeal.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia launched an investigation into the video spread on the social network about the alleged engagement of an 11-year-old girl.
