Representatives of the occupation regime illegally detained a Georgian citizen in the occupied territory.

According to the State Security Service, the person was detained in the Roki tunnel section of the Georgian-Russian state border.

The hotline was immediately activated and the EUMM was informed about the incident. It was also reported to the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners.

“Illegal detentions carried out by the occupation regime significantly damage the security environment in the occupied territories and along the occupation line. The illegal detentions are aimed at intimidating the local population and sparking tensions and protests in the territory controlled by the Georgian central government”,- reads the statement of the SSSG.
