In Guanay and Tipuani in the La Paz area, local rivers burst their banks early in the morning and catching residents off guard. Residents complained of the lack of assistance from authorities to help those in homes who have been damaged by the flood waters.
In Cochabamba the floods have also affected livelihoods. According to reports, more than 17,000 chickens in a farm drowned in the floods.
Bolivia’s civil defence body has reported that 13,000 families have been left affected the floods across various parts of the country. No deaths have yet been reported.
