The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-investigative activities solved the case of armed robbery which took place on the territory of Rike village, Zugdidi municipality. Police detained one person – E.G. (DoB 1983) as the accused of the mentioned crime.

Committed crime envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that detainee was in the vehicle along with his acquaintance female born in 1994 when they were assaulted as a result of which the jewelry of accompanying female was illegally appropriated under the threats of violence. As a result of investigative activities it was ascertained that the assault was plotted by the detainee and accomplished by his accomplice in accordance with previously elaborated scheme.

E.G. was detained by police in Zugdidi shortly after the crime took place.

In order to identify and located others involved in the mentioned crime, operative and investigative measures are in progress.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery committed in group, article 179 II part, sub-paragraph “B” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
