An opposition rally demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has kicked off in Yerevan. Hundreds of activists blocked the buildings of the government and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The rally was organized by seventeen opposition parties in Armenia, which created the Movement for the Salvation of the Motherland. Thousands of people have joined the protests, demanding Pashinyan’s resignation.
The situation on Republic Square, where the building of the Cabinet of Ministers is located, was tense. Law enforcement officers were working in an enhanced mode. The protesters blocked the building on Vazgen Sargsyan Street, which houses the country’s Foreign Ministry and other establishments.
