Out of 1595 cases of coronavirus, 563 were reported in Tbilisi, 389 in Adjara, 335 in Imereti

As of today, we have 1 595 new confirmed cases in the country. Total number of COVID infected individuals has reached 22 803 since February 26, 2020. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today.


“As of today, we have 1 595 new confirmed cases in the country. Total number of COVID infected individuals has reached 22 803 since February 26, 2020. Number of people recovering from COVID reached 398 in the last 24 hours, while the total recovery rate since February 26, 2020 is 9 401. Unfortunately, 6 people died within the last 24 hours. Total mortality rate is 178. Out of the 1 595 new cases identified today, 563 were detected in Tbilisi, 389 - in Adjara, 335 - in Imereti, 77 - in Kvemo Kartli, 69 - in Shida Kartli, 53 - in Guria, 42 - in Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti, 17 - in Kakheti, 26 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 24 - in Samtskhe Javakheti, 0 - in Racha Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.


At present, the number of active cases is 12 007, as of the first half of October 21, 2020. 3 155 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 1 584 are stationed in Tbilisi and 646 - in Adjara.


Acute health condition is observed in 381 cases, out of which 190 are in Tbilisi and 79 - in Adjara. Lung ventilators are used for 77 of them, including 48 in Tbilisi and 12 in Adjara.


1 848 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 144 are based in Adjara and 555 - in Tbilisi. Medical treatment is administered at home in the case of 7 164 individuals as of the first half of October 21, 2020.


4 408 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 939 are based in Tbilisi and 2 221 - in Adjara. Overall 7 285 individuals have been transported from the border in the period of October 6-21, 2020.


As of today, 23 931 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 4 097 are based in Tbilisi, 9 254 - in Adjara and 3 479 in Imereti.


These are the statistical data depicting the current epidemiologic situation in the country as of today, along with a report on the implemented activities, which we are regularly sharing with our population on a daily basis”, - said Berdia Sichinava.
