From today, the oncologic patients to receive prescribed medicines at clinics

Oncologic patients to receive prescribed medicines at clinics from today, July 24. According to the Minister of Health, work continues for the further development of the patient-oriented healthcare system.

“Last week, an order was signed, which reorganized the treatment procedures for oncology patients using drugs in clinics. In particular, if the patient had to 1st ask for a prescription at the clinic before the transfusion, then look for the medicine in pharmacy chains, take it, return to the same clinic, this has changed fundamentally and from now on, the clinic will no longer bother the patient, it will get the necessary medicine provided by the universal healthcare program.

The adoption of this order was preceded by fruitful work with clinics and organizations of oncology patients. I would like to thank each party and participant involved in the work process.

The mentioned change is another important step towards improving the standard of protection of patient’s interests and rights. We continue to work for the further development of a patient-oriented healthcare system. I want to wish each patient a speedy recovery”, - said Mikheil Sarjveladze.
