NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told Deutsche Presse-Agentur that he sees a supply of weapons to Ukraine as the fastest way for the country to settle its conflict with Russia.
“It may sound paradoxical, but military support for Ukraine is the fastest way to peace”, - Stoltenberg told the news agency in an interview. According to the NATO chief, Moscow has to understand it will not be able to achieve its goals in Ukraine in order to cease its military operation in the country.
Stoltenberg went on to note that he also thinks Kyiv striking targets in Russia as perfectly legitimate, arguing that “every country has the right to defend itself”.
