GeoStat held a presentation of the new interactive statistical portal on persons with disabilities

The National Statistics Office of Georgia held a presentation of the new interactive statistical portal on persons with disabilities. Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, Niko Tatulashvili, advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia on human rights protection issues, Tamila Barkalaia, Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and Giorgi Kalakashvili, Child Rights Monitoring Specialist at UNICEF gave a welcome speech to the audience gathered at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel. According to Gogita Todradze, the Statistical Portal on Persons with Disabilities allows users to receive information about persons with disabilities in one place.

Geostat prepared the Statistical Portal on Persons with Disabilities was prepared with the financial and technical support of the United Nations Children"s Fund (UNICEF). The portal covers four areas such as health care, education, sports, social security, well-being and safety.

The portal presents statistical information on persons with disabilities in simple and easily-understandable way. In addition, the portal contains relevant legislation, infographics and other useful links.

The Statistical Portal on Persons with Disabilities allows users to quickly and easily find reliable statistical data and analyze it by age, region and by other disaggregation, for a single year and in dynamics by years as well.

The portal is adapted for the blind and visually impaired persons. As a result, the functions of changing the contrast, increase, and decrease of content, as well as a voiceover in English and Georgian languages, are added to the portal.
