Russian occupation forces have illegally detained a Georgian citizen on the occupied territory near the village of Bershueti, Gori Municipality.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG], it alerted the European Union Monitoring Mission, Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions, and Georgia’s international partners about the incident.

“The Georgian government continues to actively work to release other illegally detained Georgian citizens”, - added the SSSG.
