Georgia celebrates today Svetitskhovloba, Day of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta. Svetitskhovloba is marked twice a year, on October 14 and July 13.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II will conduct a liturgy at the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.

All festive activities were cancelled due to the Vake Park tragedy.

Three minors were electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the Vake Park fountain on October 13. One died, two remained in the hospital.
