On the initiative of Tbilisi City Municipal Assembly Sports and Youth Affairs Commission, within the framework of the campaign “Successful Athletes in the City Assembly”, the reception of 2022 European fencing champion and world prize winner Sandro Bazadze and the heads of the Fencing Federation was held.

“Today we hosted Sandro Bazadze in Tbilisi City Assembly within the framework of our campaign. The result he presented at the European and World Championships is extremely meaningful for us. It should be noted that the meeting with the European and world champions in the representative body of Tbilisi will undoubtedly continue in the future”, - said Chairman of Sports and Youth Affairs Commission Giorgi Chakvetadze.

Sandro Bazadze is the 2022 European Champion and the bronze medalist of the 2022 World Championship. He recorded a historic result for Georgian fencing this year - became the first in the history of Georgian fencing, who achieved such outstanding success in the individual competition at the European and World Championships. Sandro is on the second place in the world ranking of fencers.
