The Parliament of Georgia adopted the law that provides for the tightening of fines for damage to green plants or arbitrarily felling. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi at the session of municipal government at Tbilisi City Hall.
“On July 19, the Parliament adopted the law that provides for the tightening of fines for damage to green plants or arbitrarily felling, as well as for violation of care and restoration guidelines. In the first case, the fine will be 5 000 GEL (instead of the current 500 GEL), and in the case of repeated violation, the fine will be 10 000 GEL (instead of 1 000 GEL).
In addition, a person who gives an incorrect conclusion on the quality assessment of green plants will be fined 10 000 GEL for the first time, and in case of repeated violation, the license may be revoked and the activity prohibited.
Besides, we have applied to the Government of Georgia with the project of relevant changes, and a decision has been made that the placement of a building in the capital on the part of the project area, where the unauthorized destruction of green plants took place, will not be allowed”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
