We are not going to participate in the sabotage planned by the opposition. Such a statement made today the member of Georgian Dream, Givi Mikanadze.

“Based on the initiative of the United National Movement and other opposition MPs, in total, 46 members of legislature, an extraordinary session of the Parliament has been called by the President for today.

The Georgian Dream faction will not participate in the process, the purpose of which is not to integrate into the European or Euro-Atlantic structures, not to fulfill the recommendations of the European Commission, but to deepen polarization and sabotage the mentioned recommendations. In addition, their so-called agenda does not comply with the requirements of the rules and procedures of the Parliament of Georgia, as it had not been elaborated, discussed or reconciled by the political entities at the committee hearings.

Despite the fact that the consideration of the issue of Georgia has been postponed for 2023, there will be no changes in this plan, and both in the working groups, (where in addition to the members of our team, part of the opposition also participates) and in the format of committee hearings, the relevant bills will be processed and discussed, after which they will be considered by the Parliament of Georgia in the fall session. The mentioned process will be completed by December 2022 in accordance with the announced deadlines.

Accordingly, we declare once again that we are not going to participate in the parallel, sabotage process planned by the radical opposition, which has no prospects for the outcome. None of the 81 members of our faction will participate in the extraordinary session”, - said the MP.
