We should support Georgia on its way to Europe, so that it gets closer and truly becomes a part of our society and unity. Such a statement Austrian Chancellor made at a joint press-conference with the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“We are working to deepen economic relations, there is great potential in this direction. We need legal security based on continuous economic investments. The Prime Minister gave us a guarantee that Georgia will do everything to ensure that these types of guarantees are given. We will do our best to ensure that, among them, security guarantees are created in terms of fighting organized crime.

I, as the Federal Chancellor, gave an unequivocal guarantee to Georgia that in case of implementation of specific recommendations, Georgia will have specific support from our side in order to create a specific stability space, where specific guarantees will be given against the background of this very difficult situation.

It is very important for us to have a dialogue, to produce a balanced policy in order to take more care of peace in Europe.

The Prime Minister talked about what steps Georgia had to take in recent years to reach democracy and legal statehood. This is a very important process. It doesn’t happen by itself.

I consider the process of Georgia’s accession to the European Union to be important because each step should be taken consistently.

When we talk about the motivation from the European Union, the motivation should be from the point of view of supporting Georgia in this process”, - said Karl Nehammer.
