G7 condemns Russian missile strike on mall in Ukraine, calling it “war crime”

Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) wealthy nations condemned a Russian missile attack on a shopping mall in the Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk, calling it a “war crime” in a joint statement issued late Monday.

Ukrainian officials said at least 10 people were killed and more than 40 others injured earlier in the day after Russian missiles hit a shopping center with more than 1,000 people inside.

“We solemnly condemn the abominable attack on a shopping mall in Kremenchuk. We stand united with Ukraine in mourning the innocent victims of this brutal attack. Indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians constitute a war crime. Russian President (Vladimir) Putin and those responsible will be held to account.

We will continue to provide financial, humanitarian as well as military support to Ukraine for as long as it takes. We will not rest until Russia ends its cruel and senseless war on Ukraine”, - reads the statement.
