Traffic on the Mtskheta - Stepantsminda - Larsi Road has resumed following the flooding of the Tergi River due to heavy rainfalls in the region.
According to the Roads Department of Georgia, a temporary road would be used for vehicle traffic at this stage, with the main road repaired in the meanwhile.
Late on Monday, the flooding of the river in Georgia’s north damaged an 80-metre section of the road, with the Kazbegi customs checkpoint across the border also forced to suspend its operation.
