The Special Penitentiary Service has released a statement regarding the health condition of the third President of Georgia.
“According to media reports, on May 25, 2022, at night in the clinic Vivamedi, the health condition of Mikheil Saakashvili deteriorated.
In this regard, the Medical Department of the Penitentiary Service contacted the clinic to investigate the matter. According to the information received from the medical institution, on May 25 at 01:31, a doctor on duty was called to Saakashvili, who was told by the prisoner that he had felt unwell “lost his consciousness”.
Saakashvili did not have any external injuries; hemodynamic and other vital parameters (blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, body temperature, pulse oximetry), blood sugar level, ECG indicators are within the norm. He was additionally consulted by a neurologist - acute neurological pathology was ruled out.
Based on the examinations conducted, medical evidence of loss of consciousness has not been revealed at this stage, the overall health condition was assessed as satisfactory. Observation in dynamics continues.
The health condition of the convict remained stable during the day, planned examinations were carried out and four visitors visited him with the permission of the doctor”, - reads the statement.
