The Speaker of the Parliament accompanied by MPs visited the Public School in the village Nakhiduri, Bolnisi Municipality and attended the Georgian language lesson for the 4th grade.
Shalva Papuashvili and MPs met with the Headmasters of Public Schools of the Municipality, as well as the pedagogues and the representatives of the Resource Center and discussed the importance for every Georgian citizen to speak the official language. Chairman overviewed the role of the Parliament in the provision of the ethnic minorities with high-quality education and introduced the plans of the legislative body.
MPs answered the questions of the pedagogues.
“The Education and Science Committee has commenced the thematic inquiry on accessibility to high-quality education for the ethnic minorities and thus, it is paramount for us to study the situation in the place, and get cognizant of the academic process, including the teaching of the Georgian language. We attended the Georgian language lesson and met with the pedagogues and the school administration to discuss all the challenges this very school and the ethnic minorities in general encounter in relation to the access to the high-quality education, which shall be provided by the state”, - said The Chair of the Education and Science Committee, Giorgi Amilakhvari.
