Prime Minister honors pianist Lekso Toradze’s memory

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili extended his condolences to the family of Lekso Toradze.

The Head of Government attended the pianistэs public viewing at the Tbilisi State Conservatory.

In 1983, Lekso Toradze moved to the US to pursue active pedagogical work. Recognized as one of the virtuoso performers of our era, he collaborated with the worldэs leading conductors and took part in international festivals in London, Chicago, Salzburg, Rotterdam, and other big cities. In 1991, Toradze became Professor of Piano at Indiana University South Bend where he founded Toradze Piano Studio that went on to claim recognition as a major musical and educational hub.

Pianist Lekso Toradze passed away on May 11, aged 69, in the US.
