More Ukrainian soldiers were evacuated from Mariupol"s Azovstal steel plant, writes SKY NEWS.

Several buses and Russian military vehicles were seen leaving the plant.

The first of the fighters were evacuated on Monday night and it is unclear how many remain.

The Associated Press cited a separatist leader in the region as saying that no top commanders had yet emerged from the steelworks.

Most of those previously evacuated have been taken to Russian-controlled territory, and their futures are uncertain.

Ukraine has said it hopes to get the soldiers back through a prisoner swap with Russia, but some Russian politicians have said they should be charged with war crimes.

Amnesty International said the Red Cross should be given access to the fighters.

The evacuation of the defenders of Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol continues but ongoing talks around the soldiers’ release are “very difficult”, an adviser to the Ukrainian presidency has said, writes BBC.

“The negotiations are very difficult because people’s lives are at stake. You see, Azovstal, Mariupol and the Azov regiment - all Mariupol defenders are very symbolic, and for Russia as well, in a negative respect”, - Mykhaylo Podolyak, adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff, said.
