64th session of the Government Commission on EU Integration held today at the Government Administration

Georgia has completed the questionnaire provided by the European Commission. The 64th session of the Government Commission on EU Integration, held today at the Government Administration, pointed out that the completed second part of the questionnaire-one involving sectoral directions-will be submitted to the European side on Tuesday, May 10.

The Prime Minister thanked the institutions and persons engaged in the process for sparing no effort to ensure the effective completion of the questionnaire"s larger, second part within maximally tight deadlines.

The second, sectoral part of the European Commission’s questionnaire incorporates 33 chapters and up to 2,300 questions, with May 13 previously set as the deadline by the EU, though Georgia has succeeded in completing this task before the set date.

The completed first part of the questionnaire was handed over by the Head of Georgian Government to Ambassador Carl Hartzell on May 2, at the Administration of the Government.

After the submission of the fully completed questionnaire, the European Commission will start developing its opinion report to be subsequently referred to the Council of the European Union, with the latter expected to make a relevant decision at the end of June.
