DEA fugitives Mohamad Yassine and Hassan Abdul Rahman have been extradited from Georgia to the US

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) fugitives Mohamad Yassine and Hassan Abdul Rahman have been extradited from Georgia to the United States.

Yassine is the leader of a Lebanon-based money laundering organization used by criminal entities to launder drug proceeds around the world. In September 2021, DEA facilitated Yassine’s and Rahman’s arrest in Tbilisi International Airport by the Central Criminal Police Department.

Subsequently, in March 2022, the Georgian Supreme Court approved their extradition, making this the first removal of a DEA fugitive from Georgia.

DEA and the U.S. Embassy thanks the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and Ministry of Justice for their cooperation and support.
